Now get a MBA in Media and Entertainment!

After Taal, Subhash Ghai hasn’t quite been seen doing anything monumental. True he did produce some decent movies such as Joggers Park, Iqbal but then again he is the same man who also gave us this, this and this.

Now after escalating to great heights in the show business, he is planning on expanding his empire into the education industry as well. There is a clear demand for professionals in media and not enough colleges and courses are offered for people interested in pursuing such fields. Subhash Ghai, along with Manipal Educational Society is coming up with a two year MBA programme in Media and Entertainment.

According to their press release the first year would be at the Manipal Campus in Bangalore while the second year is for “hands-on” experience in Whistling Woods, the Subhash Ghai venture which has a collaboration with Manipal, in Film City in Mumbai.

Now what really matters here is the industry exposure and how many companies are willing to recruit people from such a course which is clearly something quite unique. Right now in India there are a number of colleges offering courses in Media and Communication, MICA for example hands out such MBA’s but none is specializing in Entertainment. It would be cool to see if such a degree would be at par with other MBA’s such as the ones in Finance and Marketing. The entertainment industry in India is growing at a rapid pace, churning out second and third grade movies with dance sequences out of no where and bra flinging at the pinnacle of its success. Sources say this very bra flinging is going to generate Rs One trillion in the next 2-3 years. Hopefully this course will help you guys out there to get a bite of that cake.
