DC and other dailies flooded with JEE results!

Yes today is the day. Today is the day all newspaper readers dread for they certainly know whats coming their way. After years of observing commercial trends one can only imagine what could the massive IIT training factories do this time around. The JEE results were declared and as I woke up from my sweet slumber at 2pm and reached out for the newspaper which would accompany me to the loo, this is what I see.

I always wondered about the under hand dealings of these institutions. To me it seemed that there was a sort of agreement between these powerhouses where the one with the AIR 1 got the first page. Needless to say, other institutions would want a slice of the cake too. So finally what you got was a newspaper with approximately 4 pages of news. Regionalism also plays a major role here. Well its only obvious. Bansals would not spend a fortune on advertisement in Andhra(for they are not short of publicity in their domain) even though they DID get AIR 1 in general category. Instead Sri Chaitanya flaunts their AIR 1 in the OBC category. And in what style, a huge statue of a 1 on the front page with a confident smartie leaning against it. Then there’s the last page. You will notice how the picture is reminiscent of an Indian U-19 hockey/cricket WC victory. But its actually a Narayana IITJEE 2K8 celebration party. I wonder how the AIR 5000 is treated at these parties, that is if he’s invited.
