India’s first Humanoid Robot @ BITS-Pilani

Those chaps over at BITS-Pilani seem to be putting it all together and have created India’s first indegeniously developed Humanoid Robot called ACYUT. After a year’s hardwork, it finally stands and dances and probably wanks off too. They’re receiving quite a lot of help from the Bits Pilani Alumni Network too(BITSAA). Here’s a video

The product was showcased in the BITS-Pilani techfest APOGEE2K8(site not worth showcasing:P ) where apparently KK Birla was all praise. The Robot has received considerable media attention too, being featured on some TV channels, in Live Mint apart from other media.

ACYUT is India’s only entry to Robogames, to be held this year in California. Samay, Arpit, Harsh and others have really slogged their asses off. Going through their blog I got to know that they’ve spent all their last year chilling(!?) out at the workshop. Attaching stuff, removing stuff, getting pissed when stuff wasn’t working. But finally they’ve made something. Lets hope for the best and wish Samay and team the best of luck.
