The government sector has been acting queer lately. No not that way you imbecile. But by doing their job before schedule. Yes, the AIEEE results were announced 3 days before the official release date. Obviously all you little rascals would’ve already checked and double checked your marks and now would be flocking any blog that shows up on Google search when you punch in “AIEEE Rank Prediction”.
But seriously, such diligence? I’m impressed. It’s a bit creepy, but yes, its nice to sometimes see this side of the public sector, especially in education.
Most of you have not seen the AIEEE college filling form (which you will in a short while) and you have abso-fucking-lutely no idea how pissing off the whole process is. Its worse if your rank isn’t great. And yes, I know AIEEE is unfair. Grossly unfair if your from Andhra or Rajasthan. And with 8 lakh people competing (3 lakh of which I’m sure comprise these 2 states), I can understand.
There’s been heated argument in the student community about the relevance of the state quota. Though I’m still undecided on that. On one hand it seems unfair to an Andhra Chap who managed an AIR 15K but his State rank is around 3k, where as you have the kid from J&K who is running from one internet forum to another asking for which branch he’s going to get. He also has an AIR of 15k BUT his state rank is somewhere around 50. Counter argument would say that compare the coaching facilities in J&K and Andhra. Almost every district of Andhra produces over 50 IITians. Can the same be said about J&K? But the counter to that can again be that “hence there is more competition and hence the number of seats should be in the ratio of the competition”. And so it goes on…
Now comes my favorite part. And that’s watching the young ones crib about how the marks aren’t matching. They never do, do they? My AIEEE marks never matched my predicted score, so why should you? You probably were a little lenient while correcting the paper from those solutions. But seriously such mas protests? The IIT Aspirants community on Orkut which I do glance at once in a while was awe struck. Well maybe only the awe struck n00bs came to post on Orkut.
This is also the best time to write motivational posts with the word AIEEE all over it, so as to earn more revenue through ad sense, speaking of which, keep those ads ready on the site.
